What It Costs

Toronto interlock repair cost, real numbers

Most repair quotes land between $1,500 and $5,000, with small spot repairs starting near $800. The spread is almost entirely area, access and how deep the base problem goes.

  • Ranges, not a single number
  • Drainage quoted separately
  • No charge to look

What Moves It

Three things decide the number, and area is only one

Square footage sets the floor, but two jobs of the same size can differ by double. Access is the first multiplier: a backyard patio reached through a gate means every wheelbarrow of base is moved by hand, while a front driveway can be loaded directly.

Depth is the second: a surface re-level reuses the existing base, while a washed-out base has to be dug out and rebuilt, which is materials plus disposal. The third is whether drainage has to change, because that is a separate scope rather than part of the paving.

We quote those as separate lines so you can see what each is costing. See what a sunken paver repair involves, when base repair becomes necessary, and how grading and slope is priced.

How It Runs

Four things we price before giving a number

  1. Measure the area

Square footage of what actually has to come up, which is usually larger than the visibly settled patch.

  2. Check the access

Gate widths, steps and distance to the driveway, because hand-carrying base material is the single biggest labour variable.

  3. Open a test spot

A small lift tells us whether the base is intact and reusable or washed out and needing replacement.

  4. Separate the drainage

If water has to be redirected, it is quoted on its own line so you can see the paving and the drainage costs apart.

Why A Range

Nobody can price this from the kerb

Every page under this hub gives a band rather than a single number, and the width of the band is the honest part. Until a surface is opened, the depth of the base under it is unknown, and that one fact moves a quote more than area does.

Quote a confident figure before opening it and you are either padding heavily or coming back with a change order. So we open a test spot and the range narrows on the same visit. Access matters nearly as much: a back garden reached through a side gate is carried by hand, barrow by barrow.

See what re-levelling costs, how full restoration compares, and what paver replacement works out at per unit.

Common Questions

Cost questions from Toronto owners

Asked on most visits for this kind of work.

Spot repairs generally start around $800, which covers mobilisation and a small lift. Below that size it is rarely worth a call-out.
Roughly $10 to $18 per square foot depending on access and whether the base is reusable. A typical two-car driveway lands in the mid four figures.
Usually by a wide margin, since the blocks are reused. Replacement makes sense when the pavers themselves are spalling or you want a different product.
Access. Base material moved by hand through a gate takes several times the labour of the same volume tipped onto a driveway.
No. We measure the area, open a test spot, look at where water runs and give you a written range before anything is booked. There is no charge for the visit whether you go ahead or not.
We will show you what is in ours. A cheaper number usually means less base depth or no drainage work, and that is what brings us back in three years.

Every price on their site had a range and a reason. The quote I received sat inside the range for exactly the reason given.

I compared four companies. Theirs was the only quote where I could see the square footage and the base work written out.

They talked me out of a full relay when a section repair would do. Two seasons on, no sinking.

Their cost guide is why I called. What they charged lined up with it, so I trust the rest of the site.
