About Us
The Toronto interlock repair crew
We repair interlock rather than install it. That narrower focus is deliberate: the failures in this trade are nearly always underneath the stone rather than in it, and diagnosing what is under a settled surface is a different skill from laying a new one.
- Repair and restoration only
- Written quotes before work
- Base opened, not guessed at
Why Repair Only
Reading a failed base is its own trade
An installer builds a base correctly from scratch on prepared ground. A repair crew arrives at a surface that has already failed and has to work out why, which is a diagnostic job before it is a physical one.
The same dip can be a washed base, an uncompacted one, a tree root, a frost heave or a downspout, and each of those is a different repair at a different depth for a different price.
Getting that wrong means the customer pays for a re-levelling and watches the same spot drop again two summers later. So we do one thing: open the surface, read what is underneath, and fix the cause before the symptom.
See how base repair differs from a surface re-level, what pooling water points at, and what re-levelling costs.
How It Runs
Four things that happen on every job
-
We look before we price
No quote is given from photographs or from the driveway. Somebody walks the surface, checks the fall and opens a test spot.
-
We say what caused it
The quote names the cause, not just the work. If we cannot tell you why it settled, we have not looked hard enough yet.
-
We price it in writing
The number goes to you before anything is lifted, with the paving and any drainage work on separate lines.
-
We finish what we opened
Anything lifted gets re-sanded and the site swept before the crew leaves, on the same visit rather than a return trip.
What We Decline
We will tell you when it is not worth repairing
Some surfaces are past it. Widespread base failure across a twenty five year old driveway, or pavers spalling from de-icing salt across the whole field, is money spent twice if you relay it. We say so on the visit and explain what replacement involves, even though that job goes to somebody else.
See what full restoration costs against that, how discontinued pavers limit a partial repair, and what base repair can still save.

Questions Toronto owners ask us first
Asked before most first visits.
They lifted a corner of the patio before quoting anything and showed me the washed-out base. First contractor who explained the cause instead of just pricing the symptom.
The crew told me my walkway had years left and only needed re-sanding. Turned down a bigger job because it was not needed. That earned the next one.
Every quote came with a string-line measurement and a sketch. When the work was done, the invoice matched the sketch square foot for square foot.
Same three people on site every day, and the lead knew every paver pattern by name. It felt like a trade, not a landscaping side job.

Winter and Salt
Why Toronto Driveways Settle After Winter Thaw
Every spring, Toronto property owners find sunken pavers and cracked joints where the surface looked fine in November. Freeze-thaw cycles exploit weak base layers, and snow masks the damage until it melts.

Drainage
Why Toronto Clay Soil Wrecks Interlock Base Drainage
Toronto's clay-heavy soil does not drain, it holds. Every wet spring, that trapped water works its way under interlock bases and starts the cycle of settlement and washout that brings pavers down.

Joint Repair
Why Joints Sink in Older Toronto Interlock Driveways
Most 1990s and 2000s driveways were laid without edge restraint, and the joints have been losing sand ever since. Understanding that migration is the first step toward a repair that holds.
